Final

Uh, okay so. I only have a somewhat general outline for the story.

Basically there's this fairly isolated village/town in the far north. The people are indigenous to the region, and developed a somewhat industrialized society, but they retain a fairly isolationist policy.
Then eventually, foreign settlers begin to move in closer and closer. The natives begin to become more weary of their presence, but otherwise indifferent as long as they're left alone.
But of course why would they be left alone, that would be boring.
Territory wars ensue.
Those are fun, right?
Here I did the village as it would have been at the very beginning before we were left with war-torn ruins or whatnot or whatever happens.
I wish I had been able to explore the actual people a bit more, like how they would look. Hopefully the environment is at least somewhat indicative. I imagine them to be fairly traditional people with comparatively limited technology. But maybe that's a project for another time.

I took a thumbnail from the first assignment, from speed.

Jo-Jo and blah blah

I don't think I was ever going to stop picking at and fixing things. Might as well just post them already. Although I might keep fussing later.

Edit: Revisited versions:

Last round of sketches:

And the final:

That is an awful photo but I figured it would suffice for the purposes of just posting to the blog.

Rikki Tikki sketches

Edit:
Since we're getting feedback on here this week I wanted to briefly comment on what I did.

I decided to focus on Rikki obviously, and started out with drawing out references of mongoose photos to get a feel for the anatomy/shapes. From there I started sketching the stylized versions.
I still have some sketching ahead of me to get the final design down, and then want to play with showing different emotions, since I didn't get to that here.
For the final I'm thinking of doing a paper collage.

Character/Environments

For mine, I decided to redesign Sly Cooper from the video game, and remake the story into a steampunk setting. For the character, I used Sly, and for the environment, I went for an urban city, and tried to vary the different places he could go, such as the indoors laboratory looking place (number 3), or the airborne buildings (8, for example).
In the game, Sly's central weapon is a cane, so the last picture is a few different designs to start with.

Environments

The scans, the environments especially, didn't come out very nicely...I did it in marker so thought it would read fine, but it doesn't look like the original thumbnails. To be expected I guess.

Speed, Strength, Wonder

Wonder:

Strength:

Speed:

Trying this again. Technical difficulties apparently.

Some I like, some I don't, some you probably, uh, shouldn't ask.
